did you get yours? · last week taylor survived the dreaded pre-kindergarten doctor's visit. parents of school-aged children will know this involves a lot of needles: blood typing, blood samples, immunizations. when I took thomas to this appointment a few years ago it was dreadful. he was hysterical, uncontrollable until the last five minutes when he said, "that wasn't so bad." this time was ritina's turn, and apparently things went much better with taylor. thomas had a scare, though. after the dreaded poking was concluded, the nurse offered stickers to the boys. she wanted to be sure thomas knew he could have one as well, and so she asked him, "did you get yours?"

according to ritina, thomas went very still and turned pale. it took them a moment to realize that thomas misunderstood, thinking that "did you get yours" reffered to shots, not stickers. apparently even funnier was the priceless look and loud sigh from thomas when they clarified things for him.
